a sport of opinion. When we step on that stage, or conduct our
daily business, whether with associates or judges, it's our
relationships with these people, and their opinions and
impressions that will determine our personal and bodybuilding

Not long ago, one of the members of my health club poked her
head in my office for some advice. Linda was a 46 year old
mother of two, and she had been a member for over a year. She
had been working out sporadically, with (not surprisingly)
sporadic results. On that particular day, she seemed to have
enthusiasm and a twinkle in her eye that I hadn't seen before.

If I read 1 good valid murder mystery book, would I really want
that to be the ONLY book on the subject? If my 8th grade history
book was considered to be accurate by the majority would I
really want to be limited to only knowing one author's thoughts
on the subject? Or how about browsers and music players? Do I
just want to use IE? It gets the job done well enough.
So what's the difference between those analogies and fitness
ebook, supplements and programs? Really there's no difference to
me. ...

The question of how to find a good personal trainer is as old as
the industry itself. In fact, it usually gets transformed into
an even bigger question - should you even HIRE a personal
trainer? Conveniently enough, the answer to one of those
questions will dictate the answer to the other one - every time!
The short and simple truth of the matter is that you should only
hire a personal trainer if you can find an effective one that is
right for you. Here are several things to consider before ...

When considering your options as a personal trainer, one of the
very first things to decide is WHERE you are going to train your
clients. The most obvious answer for most trainers is to get a
job at a local fitness facility and train clients there. This is
certainly an option, and one that is recommended especially in
the beginning of your career. The structure and experience that
you will get by working at a successful gym or fitness center is
invaluable for a new personal trainer. However, ...

The two main purposes of stretching are prevention of injury
caused by exercise or day-to-day activities and a faster rate of
recovery from exercise. Stretching can also be used to improve
posture and restore proper anatomical functionality.
A regular stretching program will loosen muscle tissue, allowing
an increased range of motion at the joints, which in turn helps
prevent microtears at the muscle-tendon junction. Almost 90% of
all injuries from muscle strain occur at the ...

In an article by a well known "functional/core exercise"
proponent, there is an attempt to affiliate the concepts of
microscopic life of the amoeba with human cellular processes,
and "functional training" when the author claims: "Movement,
survival and the optimal functioning of the organism all go hand
in hand." This statement opens a door for the author as he links
"movement" with "function," together with the concept of
"optimal." He then claims that there is a link between

Many people exercise, play sports, or know someone who does.
Having done so almost my entire life, I have a few pearls of
wisdom. To gain an advantage, focus on a full body workout. In
sports your base (waist down) are more important than your upper
body except the mind and heart. It will bring more life to your
conversations and rejuvenate your outlook.

teammate of Oscar Robertson (The Big O) on the Cincinnati
Royals. He's a joy ...

As a former NCAA Division 1 Athlete, I have parents ask me quite
often what their son or daughter needs to do in order to make it
to the highest level of college athletics.
First, mom and dad need to know where they fit in the equation
to success. Parents cannot be the primary motivator. If a kid is
not self-motivated to be on the field or in the gym early and
often, I would say he does not have what it takes. No matter how
hard a parent pushes, kids will ultimately change only if their
heart ...
